A heart-lifting remedy to restore courage, ease melancholy, and rebuild nervous system strength.
Borage, also known as Starflower, is a beloved old age European plant remedy with soft, hairy leaves and violet-blue star-shaped flowers. Traditionally used to dispel melancholy — the historic name for what we now call depression — this generous herb uplifts the spirit and renews courage in the face of grief, exhaustion, and emotional strain.
Its fresh, cucumber-like flavour and cheerful blooms echo its essence: lightness, resilience, and gentle strength. Borage is often used as an adrenal tonic during times of deep nervous depletion, offering gentle repair and vitality to the heart and spirit. It is a plant that whispers: you can do this — and helps the body believe it.
Caution: Due to the presence of pyrrolizidine alkaloids (PAs), it is recommended to use Borage in short durations — no more than 2 months at a time, followed by a rest period.
Please consult your health practitioner and take the time to do your own research before consuming and plant preparation. Ensure there are no interactions, if you are currently taking medication.
